Our Mission

Radha Krishna
Mandir Mission

Many temples in the U.S. today celebrate our festivities on the Saturday or Sunday, in the week our Hindu festivals fall in. Since the conception in 1978, Radha Krishna Mandir, has held on to its prime objective and goal of celebrating our festivals on the same day the festival is. For example, the birth of Lord Krishna is celebrated with big fanfare at midnight of Janmashtami itself; and our Hindu New Year is celebrated with Mangla Aarti at 5:30 am on New Year’s Day, be it week day or weekend, come rain or shine.

Our Mandir observes and celebrates almost all our Hindu functions, small or big – from Gauri Parvati and Jaya Parvati Vrat, Shravan Somvaars, Holi, Ram Navmi, Hanuman Jayanti, Ganesh Chaturthi, to Navraatri, and Diwali, and many, many more. We also hold and organize yagnas, kathas, paths and bhajans with maha-prasad every Sunday, while we also celebrate India’s Independence Day and Mother’s Day. We have been the pioneers in starting Bal Vihar – Sunday School for the future pillars of our community, and also offering Free Medical Check Up twice a month for the needy, at our Mandir.

Another unwritten principle of this temple has been, never to charge even a dime for any of its activity. Our Mandir has been organizing Navratri Raas-Garba events from small to super large scales, every single year. At these events, held under a huge tent, with live band from India, and serving free food, and secured parking, the Mandir has always welcomed members or non-members alike, without discrimination, with No Entry fee and Free Parking for all. This is perhaps the rarest thing in this day and age, but this was the mission with which our temple was formed and we continue to live by it.
